I’ve written copy for lots of leaflets for all sorts of different types of businesses.

Chiropractors, plant nurseries, artists, care homes.

But early in 2019 I got a call from the National Museums for the Royal Navy based in Portsmouth, asking me to tender for the copywriting of their customer leaflets, for all their UK museums.

Up against two digital agencies, I won.

Following the client briefing, I spent some time at Portsmouth Dockyard, gathering insights and reviewing customer feedback.

Once I’d done all my research and asked lots of questions, I submitted my proposed copy for all the Royal Navy’s National Museums; HMS Hartlepool, HMS Caroline Belfast, HMS Trincomalee, The Fleet Air Arm, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and the opening of the UK’s first Horrible Histories Exhibition.

My copy was approved on first submission and went to print with no changes.
