The odd ramble…

A new decade of positive impact
I’m celebrating 10 years as a freelance copywriter this week. Thank you to all the fabulous clients I’ve worked with, the graphic designers, web designers, photographers and videographers who have collaborated on projects. I have loved every minute and can’t wait for the continued positive impact we’re going to wreak in the coming decade!

It’s why I write!
I interviewed this fabulous family and wrote their story which was incorporated in a fundraising mail pack, resulting in donations worth 40% over target. That is what I love about being a freelance copywriter. The opportunity to spread the word about a service that could lighten the load of someone’s day.

See the value
Whatever service you’re buying - could be singing lessons or copywriting - make sure you flush out the real value. What’s behind the offering? The real benefit? That’s where the gold lies.

A thought for horses
What a shock to see images of blood streaked horses tearing through Central London this week. My heart goes out to everyone involved this week and I hope everyone is OK. I’ve been copywriting all sorts of marketing collateral for an Equestrian Centre this month, so it felt close to home.

Face to face
As a freelance sustainability copywriter, I do most of my work remotely. Meeting clients online - from Australia to Cornwall - and writing from home. But starting today chatting with local business folk face to face - seeing the whites of their eyes - has given me an added spring in my step.
I love writing blogs
I bloody love writing blogs. I’ve written about plastic pollution, regenerative farming, the best pubs in Essex, food waste, cyber security, robotic sailing marks, clinics in the Congo, fostering kids … there is SO much great work being done by SO many. Let’s share it better.
