Make way for nature
David Attenborough’s vision for the long-term success of humanity on earth is framed in “Our Story” currently showing (and bookable) at London’s Natural History Museum.
Cities with plenty of healthy, lush green spaces. Where nature thrives, the air is cleaner, the streets are quieter and the products we buy used from sustainable, recyclable materials and resources. (Amongst other things.)
Made me think of you Sue Payne and her fabulous team of urban horticulturalists at Q&S Limited (Quality & Service Ltd) creating and maintaining our city’s beautiful green spaces outside (and in!) business parks, shopping centres, rooftop bars, walkways, hospitals and developments.
Building ecosystems that draw in native birds, bugs, bees and wildlife.
Encouraging nature’s biodiversity and ensuring biodiversity net gain.
Green space does so much to elevate a setting but also to help communities who live and work there. They benefit from the space, the creativity and the chance to learn about wildlife.
I read, just this week, that nearly 50% of London is green space.
50%!!!
That’s amazing. But it’s just the beginning.
For the next (but one) generation to have a chance at thriving on this beautiful planet, we must make way for nature.
