Sustainable EDI in the Workplace

Some people you meet, you never forget. Jemma Roye is one of them. I wrote her Grow, Achieve, Soar Academies website a few years ago but it was her “Let’s start a conversation” programme - which she set up in the aftermath of George Floyd’s killing - I wanted to feature for the Diverse Talent Network: business leaders and HR professionals who recognise that meaningful diversity, equity and inclusion can only be achieved by widening the diversity of your network.

For real, sustainable EDI in the workplace, education and inclusion has to start in our homes, the playground and in our schools. As you’ll read in our interview; racism and prejudice is not always being tackled head on.

Read the full blog to find out about the impact Jemma’s work is having on children, teachers, parents and governors alike.

“Encountering daily racism is a reality for so many individuals. Our schools and workplaces need to be equipped to have courageous conversations to dismantle racism and work towards a more racially equitable society.”
